About Us

Namaste! Warm welcome to The First Step (Aarambha) Nepal. Established in 2006, The First Step (Aarambha) Nepal works with rural youth and marginalized villagers across Nepal. It strives to address root causes of social discrimination and poverty as it serves the rural people to help them meet their basic needs, improve their livelihoods, education and build their communities. The First Step Nepal is engaged in implementing integrated community development programmes at grassroots levels.

Maternal Health


Nepal has suffered from more than a decade of conflict with devastating consequences for the delivery of basic services. One third population lives below the poverty line and one woman dies every two hours during pregnancy and childbirth. The impact of a woman’s death is devastating, for her family and community, as well as her surviving children. Aarambha Nepal tries to kick out all those key obstacle through social awareness, workshop and establishing maternal health information centre.

Child Protection


Two third of Nepali children are still in the dark shadow of poverty. Most of them spend their life in search of foods. Many children are working as house labour, factory labour and transportation labour. They lost their future in poverty and searching thier lives in kitchen and factory of their masters. Due to lack of proper knowledge and awareness, child discrimination is increasing day by day. The fundamental rights of the children is behind the shadow.

E-Library


Communication is the major factor to change life of human beings. E-library is not a new concept in hills of Nepal but 99% of rural people are still out of communication and information technology. Aarambha now begins with the voice of fundamental rights to communication and information in rural area of Nepal. A most ambitious project under The First Step Nepal is to build a network system directly with the global community to exchange infomation and to gain knowledge.
